- How many 2 cu ft mulch bags for 300 sq ft?
- At 3 in depth, 300 ft² needs 75 ft³ ÷ 2 = 38 bags (rounded up). Adjust depth for your bed, the calculator updates live.
- How many mulch bags equal a cubic yard?
- Standard retail bags are 2 ft³. One cubic yard is 27 ft³, so about 13–14 bags per yard, always round up. Our calculator shows both bag count and bulk yards.
- How deep should mulch be?
- Use 2–3 inches for decorative beds and 3–4 inches where you want stronger weed suppression. Deeper is not always better, too much can suffocate plant roots.
